THE 4TH OF APRIL Weather Report: Warm evening, no wind, waxing crescent moon.
Every year on the anniversary of The Treaty of Elverestin, the people of Elvedon celebrate in the village square, remembering the day that brought peace to the land. As tradition dictates (during the week leading up to the anniversary) the people hang forget-me-nots from their windows as a symbol of remembrance. A reminder of the chaos that greed brought upon the people over 200 years ago. Many give a gift to those close to them, sweets hung from Ash tree branches are often given to children, the Ash tree branch was said to ward off evil spirits. Figs and berries are exchanged among couples and families etc as a sign of love and peace.
Elvedon Village will be holding a bonfire in the square to commemorate the Treaty's Anniversary. Everyone is invited to join in the merriment, exchange their gifts and make the most of the music, stalls and food. Everyone will be doing their bit to make the evening...unforgettable...
The Event will be open on the 4th of April, more information will be posted then.
