The Plot
---The Story
Please be sure to read these
The year is 1242.
The Baron Valdislav De Perronet laughed as the cry of angry villagers circled the town square, a strong pair of hands wrenched his arms back, binding them roughly behind him. As they strung the noose up, he swore they hadn’t seen the last of him…
The sleepy village of Elvedon is famous for its quaint cobbled streets and sloping cottages. It is situated by the cold blue sea, which is often unforgiving to those who venture around the reef to seek refuge from the stormy ocean. The road in and out of the village is not for the faint hearted. Mountainous tracks and foggy roads have often lead weary travellers astray to the ravines below.
The village lies on the acres of land belonging to Manor. Baron Constantin De Perronet, laid back in his ways and preoccupied with other matters, has neglected to collect the payments owed to him from the tenants on his farms and lands. The past ten years has seen many changes in the village, the Manor house only employs a small number of servants in comparison to how the house was run before the Baroness passed away. Talk of strange things happening in the Manor has spread throughout the village. Figures have been seen stalking the edge of the forest and several villagers have mysteriously disappeared.
The old fable of the witch burned and encased in a jar, tossed under the stony bridge to spend eternity beneath the rippling waters, strikes fear into the many children who cross the bridge. Some say if the river dries up the witch will escape from her watery grave and claim the lives of those whose ancestors wronged her.
The mysteries surrounding the village may forever remain unanswered, but one thing is for certain…the village will never be the same again. Who’s afraid?
