Anything 1/11/1223 FISHERMAN PANSEXUAL MALE nowhere | - Appearance – The first thing one notices about Shiloh is that he’s tall. Really tall. Standing at 6’3” and weighing a rather skinny 137 lbs, Shiloh sets a new standard for height. Despite his skin and bones appearance, years of being in the fishing industry has made him stronger than he first appears, and life before that as a thief making him clever enough not to flaunt it. His dark brown hair is in a constant state of disarray, a battle he’s fought and lost many a comb to in the past. He often ties it back when working, so as to keep his vision clear. Baby blue eyes contrast nicely with his tanned skin, providing an easy way to read his emotions. This is especially helpful, as being a mute in a time before the invention of sign language has left him with very few ways of actually communicating with other people. His single outfit consists of a simple peasants’ shirt and shorts (both of which are much too baggy for someone like him) and a straw hat. - Personality – Shiloh is a gentle giant, though he used to have a violent and at times unpredictable temper, which can still be seen today under the right circumstances. He’s a very straightforward and honest person, bordering on bluntness most of the time. He’s always trying to get across what he wants to say as quickly as possible, and so, as a result, has a tendency to over-exaggerate everything he does, from his expressions to his gestures. Despite being a fisherman, Shiloh is by no means a patient person when it comes to socializing. He gets frustrated when someone doesn’t understand what it his he’s trying to tell them, and will often end up dragging a person to wherever he needs them to be. He avoids lying whenever possible, as it tends to just drag out and over-complicate things. He’s grown accustomed to be being called by many names, though he always addresses himself as Shiloh. He can read and write well enough to use paper as a means of talking to someone, though living amongst the poorer folk usually leaves him as the only one who can. He’s also found that he’s able to hear things that others can’t. He’s always been able to hear the soft and distant voices with no visible bodies, except in the form of quick shadows in the corner of his eye. Even though life can be extraordinarily frustrating for him at times, Shiloh is overall satisfied with where he’s at now, content with spending his days on his own. - History – Born in Elevedon to a poor farming family, Shiloh was abandoned at about the age of six when it finally became apparent that he would never speak. At this point in his life, he can no longer recall his parents’ faces, nor does he particularly care to. As far as he’s concerned, the only parental figure he ever had was an old fisherman. Before meeting the old man he’d come to know merely as “Mister,” Shiloh stole food in order to live, with his only friends being the voices he seemed to find wherever he went. He was never afraid of the voices; after all, they’d never done him any harm. Instead he developed a burning curiosity and fondness for them, always wondering who they were but always unable to ask them. He often spent his nights listening closely to the voices, picking out one at a time and trying to decipher the indistinct mumbling. Sometimes the voice would become clearer, and he could make out whole conversations. he heard the name crawford in one of these conversations, and, deciding he quite liked the sound of it, took it as his own. Listening for too long left him tired and invasive afterwards though, so he eventually decided to let the voices be. It wasn’t long after this decision that he met Mister at the age of eleven during a failed attempt to steal his fish. Instead of threatening the boy with a beating, Mister gave Shiloh a fish and sent him on his way. Curious about the man that showed him such kindness, Shiloh spent many days afterwards secretly watching the man go about his days. He watched Mister fish for four days, leave on his boat with his catch on the fifth day, return the next day, and rest on Sunday like everyone else. Eventually, Shiloh fashioned himself a makeshift rod and tried it out for himself. Having no patience, he almost gave up on the idea, until Mister came across him and gave him some tips. From that day forward, Shiloh sat at the dock and waited for Mister to come everyday, and everyday he’d be taught something new, whether it be fishing or reading or writing or morals. It was Mister that first called him Shiloh. On the days when Mister was off trading, Shiloh was left to practice what he was taught. It was on one of these days about five years ago that Mister left and never returned. Shiloh never knew what became of his mentor, but he’s continued living by the morals he was taught even to this day. |
