into the woods the night will be...unforgettable D arkness has fallen upon the village and the bonfire has been lit. The people of Elvedon begin to gather in the village square exchanging gifts and browsing the vast array of stalls. Soon the music will began and the dancing will start. There is a strong aroma of roast hog and ale, many gather around the large roast hog, waiting for it to be carved. Usually the Baron opens the festivities with a speech...but this year he hasn't attended. Some wonder about this, others don't notice the missing presence. The laughter and music travels far...far over the foreboding forest in which the others dwell...

It was a cool night and Ileana found herself trudging down the long winding road towards the village square. Every year the village celebrated the the anniversary of the treaty, the anniversary had become a sort of holiday and as a child Ileana had always looked forward to the day. She had loved watching the flames dance on the bonfire and she'd always been the recipient of one of the Ash wood branches that came with candies, her father had never failed to buy her one as child.
The sound of chatter reached her ears, people had already begun to gather in the square and from the sound of it, someone had already lit the bonfire. She could hear the sound of cracking wood as the flames licked at the kindling. A burst of excitement rushed through her and she picked up her pace, she couldn't wait to see the dancing and browse through the stalls. She hoped she would see her friend Alyona, who of late had been preoccupied with more serious matters. Everyone deserved a night off from their troubles.
Ileana rounded the corner and made her way through the crowds of people, who were gathering in the side streets. The streets were lined with stalls and Ileana paused to look at a stall selling charms. It was amazing to see the village gathered in full force in the tiny square, the heat from the bonfire warmed her heart.
In the distance Ileana could see that someone had begun to perform by the bonfire and a surge of people pushed forward as they tried to get a better look. Someone from behind her pushed brutally into her and she found herself falling forward as she was knocked from the other side by enthusiastic onlookers.

Earlier in the day, a certain blonde female had bathed and plaited her hair in a more suitable fashion. Her blonde locks were controlled and well-groomed for the first time in a long time. Most of her hair was down and naturally straight, but there was a braid that came across the front and ventured alongside her hairline and rested behind her ear. Couldn't have her hair in her face now, could she?
Diana wasn't entirely sure what this whole event was for, as she had only recently moved to Elvedon, and she was curious as to what was actually going to happen. She had heard tell of a large bonfire and little gifts that were passed from those she referred to as 'the natives', but she still had virtually no idea about the significance of the events that were going to unfold before her. After eavesdropping on an older couple's conversation, the huntress was enlightened as much as she cared to be.
All she could think about how good that hog smelled and how great that ale would be. Needless to say, she was ravenous. The tall woman didn't have any issue maneuvering through the crowds, but she did try to make sure she didn't plow anyone over. Bumping into others was inevitable, but she really didn't want to cause someone to fall, similar to the brown-haired girl who had just lost her balance. She was a bit too far into the crowd to have been able to help, but it did give her a little food for thought.
"This is the first time I've seen this place so lively," Diana remarked, loud enough for others to hear though the words were primarily for herself. She looked around the swarms of people and had yet to make up her mind as to what she wanted to do. Food sounded nice.

Nathalie Deshoulières Character played by Slayer for the purposes of the event only. They come like a plague upon the land, spreading like wildfire across all corners of this earth...
Nathalie watched from the forest edge, her greying dark hair tumbling down over her shoulders like a waterfall. From her position she could see the bonfire, it was like an orange becon and it was what had attracted her in the first place. The sound of life travelled across the cool breeze and it danced around her playfully. She did not move, her dark eyes piercing the distance between herself and the village.
She had been travelling for days from Mortown through the rocky forests to the village of Elvedon. Mortown had been nice for a while, but then people had begun to suspect...
Nathalie was fifty-two years of age, but she had walked the earth for much longer. Her unending need for sustenance had driven her from town to town, praying on unsuspecting folk until she had outstayed her welcome.
She was weak from her journey, but driven by the desire to feed. She was certain she could find an unlucky soul among the crowds to feast upon. No one would notice if one went missing...the merryment and chaotic bustle of the village folk would certainly create a good cover, she thought as she made her way toward the village centre.
